Learn The Balance Between Work And Home

Written by admin on May 7, 2008 – 7:38 am -

You may want to stay at home but you can’t. Joining the work force has its benefits, for one you will have money. When you work you also have the responsibility of keeping up the home and everything that goes with it. Your spouse may help you do that but you still need to make sure that it gets done. Without you overseeing the final projects at night things may go without being done.

Work
Women take jobs for several reasons. Some reasons a woman works may be

-          to contribute to the household income in order to afford everything they want and need

-          may be separated or divorced

-          Their spouse was hurt or temporarily unemployed

-          So you don’t let all those years in college become wasted

With your job comes the responsibility that you are given with your new position.  This sometimes causes added stress in your life and you may find it hard to concentrate on your work for thinking about things that you need to do at home and also while you are at home you may think about all the things you need to do at work. This added stress is not good and can lead to side affects such as headaches, frustration, or eventually feeling run down.

Home
When you think about home, you probably think about putting your feet up and dressing down into your comfortable outfits to relax and unwind.  If you don’t have your home life organized it may cause the feeling of being overwhelmed and unable to get anything accomplished. You may need to prepare breakfast before you leave, or you may need to pack lunches and when you get home you need to fix a dinner for everyone.  Plus you need to do laundry, vacuum up a mess in the floor or come up with a great science project and whatever your kids ask of you. This can become very stressful when it hits you as soon as you walk in the front door.

Learn to Balance
You need to find some way of balancing your life.  This may require you to put everything you need to do on a schedule. Your schedule should consist of the times you need to do things and how much time you can spend doing it. Although it may seem a bit too much to put your home life on a schedule you will appreciate it in the evenings when you finally have time to relax and unwind. Plus the weekends will be free to do whatever you need to do at your own pace.  Maybe you can even help prepare for the upcoming week.  The weekends are also your time to feel renewed and refreshed to start the new week. Make sure that you don’t wear yourself too thin preparing for the next week or trying to get caught up from the past week. You make life easier on yourself when everything you go to do has a plan. Your family and your work will fall into place.
