Texture and Style in Shag Rugs

Rugs of all shapes, sizes, colors, patterns and fibers have become popular over the years. They are valued not just for functionality and contribution to the overall look of any room, but also because of their own distinct beauty.

I find rugs a wonderful addition to any room in the house, but the one place that I think deserves a good rug or two is the bedroom. For your sleeping quarters, go for deep and fuzzy shag rugs that will tickle and tantalize your feet.

My own room is made all the more lively by a zebra patterned shag rug that covers the whole bed area, with an allowance of about 1.5 feet all around. The first thing I do in the morning is to dig my feet into the warm rug and wriggle my toes. It’s a good feeling, I tell you.

For the other rooms in the house, shag rugs can be a good way to accessorize any part of your home. Go for vibrant colors and patterns that match your furniture and wall colors. If you wish, you can even put shag rugs on top of the carpet to give an extra layer and texture to the room.
